We take a crazy ride up a primitive mountain road through the coffee plants and banana trees on the plantation of Cafe Don Emilio, located between Uvita and Pérez Zeledón Costa Rica. In case you didn’t know, Cafe Don Emilio is famous for their coffee and their award winning coffee tour. The ride is thrilling and the view is fantastic. A drive through the small community made up of family and friends offers a wonderful view of the traditional Costa Rica, far removed from the tourist destinations and beach scenes. We end with a look at part of the drive back down to Uvita on a steep and windy road featuring some glimpses of the amazing view on the way down to the intersection of Route 34. This is the paved section, we will show you the beautiful dirt road in a future video.

My name is Ed and I sold my house, quit my job as a Rich Media Editor with Gracenote back in the USA and moved to Uvita Costa Rica in April of 2021, in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic. Moving to a new country by yourself can be an intimidating endeavor, but with the right mindset and a little luck, life has been very good for me here. I love the weather here, the nature is absolutely amazing, the beaches and the mountains are fantastic, I even have monkeys in my back yard.
